Well, this has been a week.
The good news….Matthew’s test results returned saying that his recent ulcers were caused by a virus of all things. A VIRUS!! I didn’t know you could “catch” an ulcer.
I guess the important thing is he is feeling better. You would never know he had just been in the hospital for four days.
At this time, I am trying to watch his diet. We were told while he was in the hospital that he was in the midst of a terrible allergic reaction to something…I decided it was time to re-visit his allergies.
Over the next few weeks, we’re going to be in the process of eliminating some possible offending foods to see if anything will help.
My bad news….I’ve apparently waited TOO long to have my remaining wisdom tooth removed. I am in a horrible amount of pain this morning.
I’m staying home from church today since I am literally carrying a bottle of ambesol, q-tips and a heating pad around with me. I’m praying for a little relief. I need it this week.
Really bad news….my uncle died this week. It was unexpected, and such sad news. This was my father’s younger brother.
Some of you may know, I don’t have much contact with that side of my family. I was just getting to know him.
I know he was a good father and loved dearly by his family. I know he’ll be missed.
I miss that I didn’t get to know him better. My Mom used to tell me often that everyone always loved him.
It all seems so sudden.
It’s also been a reminder that we’re never promised another day.
Why do we let so many slip by with unresolved issues? Why do we let petty things steal joy and precious time from our lives?
I’ll never understand.
This week, I will be attending his funeral. I have been praying the Lord would show me ways to comfort his grieving son, and his sweet family. I know this must be so hard for them.

Today I’m Thankful For
Today’s Scripture Meditation
Psalm 119:50
“Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.
My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. ”
With my love,
You are in “double digits” now!
I love you so very much!
I pray the Lord will teach you, guide you, and draw you closer to Him in this coming year.
With all my love,
Mama
